DSP365E

Overview

The DSP365E is based on the 600MHz 64-bit TMS320C6416 revsion1.1 DSP family and offers the highest fixed-point processing power ever. We have implemented this into a scalable solution using Xilinx Virtex II FPGAs. The DSP365E has the facility to take very large FPGAs and they can be used for simulation of ASICs, large algorithms, etc. The DSP365E is, from the user's perspective, a larger and more powerful version of the DSP365 Module and a system can be designed with a mixture of DSP365s and DSP365Es on the same Carrier. The DSP365E is supported by the T.I. Code Composer Studio and 3L Diamond RTOS to enable full MultiDSP systems with minimum efforts by programmers.

Benefits

The DSP365E provides a flexible platform for the next generation of Telecom systems, Image Processing applications, Medical equipment and Industrial solutions. With the added benefit of the large Virtex II FPGA, the DSP365E enables pre-processing to be done 'On-the-Fly' before the DSP gets the data. The provided basic VHDL Cores for InterDSP communication take approximately 300k gates of the FPGA with the rest available for the user. The 400MB/sec Digital Bus provides 60 I/O pins each and they are available to the user as general purpose I/O pins and uses the high-speed connector system from Samtec and use the 'Blue Ribbon' cables from Precision Interconnect.
